"Before JoAnna joined the band, she was looking to get back to her solo career and wanted to try writing with some people. I came up with the framework for this song and we got together one day to flesh it out, changing the rhythmic feel to fit with her style and moving the key back and forth until we found a place that worked for both of us vocally. Once she joined the band, we made this an Augustine Reunion song. For a brief period, our friend Lucy Hull was the sixth member of the band, playing violin (fiddle) and viola. I wanted to have her on this track and I couldn't be happier with the end result. Chris Kendrick did a great job of capturing everything. I think JoAnna and I even recorded these vocals together on one mic. It is a great epilogue to the album."

lyrics
There’s cracks in the plaster
Running up the wall
And honey, it seems none of our pictures
Want to hang straight anymore
There always seems a creaking board
Underneath my feet
And I won’t be the ghost
Living on your street
This house
This house is settling
Settling down
This house
This house is settling
But how long ‘til it gives into the ground?
What do you think we’ll see
When we rip up that floor
‘Cause this once-indelible structure
Ain’t the rock it was before
But seasons change
Can we rebuild this home we used to love?
‘Cause honey, this can’t be the place
That we’ve been dreaming of
This house
This house is settling
Settling down
This house
This house is settling
But we can still turn this around
**
This house
This house is settling
Settling down
This house
This house is settling
This house
This house is settling
Settling down
This house
This house is settling
But how long ‘til it gives into the ground?
But how long ‘til it gives into the ground?
